About the Blog

This blog was born out of a need and a calling to write. It is a calling I have delayed for quite some time for fear of not getting it “right” or “perfect.” But I am working to get rid of that need and just start writing.

As far as guiding principles go, two Bible verses have really given shape to my vision for this blog:

Philippians 4:8 says: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Colossians 3:17 says: And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

These two verses together speak to the fact that all that is good and beautiful and true in this life belong to God. As a pastor I am called to be a tour guide and show people the truth in the world around them and what that means about God and who He is. All truth is God’s truth, no matter where it is found.

Because of this, I have not limited the content of this blog to one particular area quite yet. A post could be about anything from a popular movie, a good novel, a piece of scripture, an addicting TV show, an awesome band, or current events. Anything that is good or beautiful or true, no matter where it comes from, belongs to God. So I intend to live my life and wherever I find goodness, wherever I find beauty, wherever I find truth, I am going to claim it for God and point to Him who is Goodness, Beauty, and Truth in the flesh of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
